Original Account VS Collection Account-
So I've been working diligently to repair my credit... It's been a mess, slowly but surely coming along. Anyways, when I pull my credit report, it shows an original credit card (HBSC BANK) that was TRANSFERRED AS A CHARGE OFF.The old credit card was transferred to Cavalry Portfolio. So, I sent Cavalry Portfolio a debt validation letter... after waiting the 30 days with no word I decided to call them. The lady told me that the account was terminated and would be removed from my credit file. So my question is this.. Does the original account (HBSC) remain on the credit file or do I need to send them a separate DV letter? I just assumed that if the company that inquired the collection couldn't get it validated then the original debt couldn't/wouldn't be about to validate it either. Any advice/experience would be very helpful! Thanks.
