anyone ever dealt with Frontier collections?
Unfortunately, a relative took out a fraudulent account through Frontier using my info, therefore, tying it to my credit. I was young and dumb and assumed because it wasn't in "collections" it must be gone. Come to find out, it had been charged off and was appearing under my "closed accounts." When I found it, it made more sense to me why my Equifax score was so much lower than my Transunion. I disputed the account and was found responsible because my name, SSN, and DOB matched (well duh, this relative knew all of that information about me). I have been trying to speak with Frontier about this and of course have been getting the run around. They said they'll send me a "fraud packet" and I will need to provide the information in it. I am not feeling super comfortable that I will hear from them anytime soon. My family and I are ready to move on, get into a house, etc. It's bad enough I had to wait the entire 30 days for the dispute results, just to be found responsible for something that's not mine. Has anyone else had to deal with Frontier's collections or fraud departments? Any luck or advise? Thank you!
