Perfect Credit Not Needed - $10K Baby😘
Helpful to 51 out of 54 people

At the time of my approval, my credit karma scores were; 663 T/U and 678 EQ. I was NOT approved right away as I got the screen that stated my application needed to be reviewed and I'd hear back from them within 7-10 days with a decision. This was on Friday (6/16/17). I couldn't wait that long because I was just too anxious to know if I was approved for this elite card. On Monday morning (6/19/17), I called their application status number (1-888-338-2586) and was politely transferred to their fraud department. This is standard procedure in preventing identity theft... I had 3 recent inquiries on my credit report so they simply wanted to make sure that I was the one applying for this card.

The representative asked me to verify my full name, social security #, phone #, etc. Lastly, she sent me a verification code via text and asked me to verify it. This all took about 2-3 minutes and after the verification process she said something that made me experience pure joy. 😊 "Thank you very much for verifying that information, I am happy to inform you that you've been approved with a $10,000 credit limit." My card arrived on Wednesday (6/21/17) via UPS Express. 👏👏

The welcome letter provided me with my Transunion FICO score, which at the time was 629. The card is made from metal... after all, it is a premium card on the Visa Infinite network. 👏❤

You do not need PERFECT credit to qualify for this card. However, I have read many reviews on various sites that states it's better to have a card with at least a minimum credit limit of $3,000. I do have a Capital One QuickSilver One Credit Card with that limit, which was my highest CL at the time of my approval. My utilization was 10% and I pay my balances in full... no collections, no bankruptcy, no repos, 6 total late payments on 3 different student loans, etc.

Additional information;

- Approval Odds on Credit Karma - Very Good
- Annual Income - $65,000
- Total Inquiries - 6
- They use Transunion to make their Decision

Current Credit Cards;

- Capitol One Platinum MasterCard - $500 CL
- Capitol One QuickSilver One - $3,000 CL
- OpenSky Secured Card - $200 CL (I will close this card soon since it has served its purpose)
- Auto Loan with Capital One Auto Finance with a balance of $12,264

Cards Recently Approved for (via Credit Karma) the same week but not yet showing on my report;

- Discover It - $1,000 CL
- Wells Fargo Platinum Card - $300 CL
- Wal-Mart Credit Card - $200 CL

I am rating this card based on my experience with it as an authorized user on my ex husband's account. I'm so happy to be able to take advantage of the many benefits offered by this card. Do not fret about the $450 annual fee, you receive $300 in travel credits and a host of other savings. I truly hope my review helps.

American Express® Gold Card

My odds we're poor for this card and the AMEX Platinum card. Approved for both in the same day. My credit karma scores are mid 650s. I'm sure being a joint owner on my ex husband's card since 2013 had a lot to do with my approval. I should also not that I have over 25 inquires on my report in the last year. My husband used to drop $10,000+ on his Platinum and gold cards due to his business. We also received plenty of rewards and AMEX has always been good to us. Hence, the five stars.

YAY! APPROVED

Credit Karma showed my approval odds for the QuickSilver One card as "Very Good" so I decided to apply. It took about 2 seconds and I was approved for a $3,000 credit limit. I had to look twice because I thought it was $300, lol. At the time of approval, my CK scores were 646. I should note that I do NOT have any collections, bankruptcies, repos, etc. on my report. I do have 4 student loans listed and three with at least 2 or 3 missed payments. However, Cap 1 gave me a chance. I started with their platinum secured card last January with a $300CL to which they increased to $500 after 6 months. In February of this year, they upgraded my card to UNSECURED. I'm hoping that one will be increased to at least $2K.

I received an email a month after having the QuickSilver One card stating that I will receive a $500 increase after 5 months of on time payments... so by November my CL will be $3,500. Just in time for the holidays. :-)

I applied for this card even though my approval odds on credit karma was listed as N/A. I took a chance anyway and was approved. It wasn't an immediate response as I was given a message from Discover's website to call their 800# and reference my application #. The rep informed me that I needed to remove the security freeze on my EQUIFAX account. I was able to remove the freeze online while he stayed on the phone. This took me less than 3 minutes to do. Once I let him know that I removed it, he placed me on hold for about 2 mintues and came back stating that I was approved. 😊 He asked me for my account and routing number but I told him I'd fund the card tomorrow. I will [more than likely] put $1,000 on it. By the way, he stated that they review all secured accounts on a monthly basis so graduating to an unsecure card shouldn't be a problem as long as I'm responsible. *fingers crossed*

Note: My Credit Karma EQUIFAX score is 678 but my FICO EQUIFAX score is a measly 616, lol. However, as you can see I still got approved.

Credit History: No collections, 2 late payments on my student loan in 2016, two capital one cards ($500 limit and $3,000 limit), Wells Fargo secured card $300 limit, OpenSky secured card $200 limit, and a recently opened auto loan with a $12,000 balance.

Lastly, I would like to add that Discover denied me for this same card less than 60 days ago, lol. My Equifax score at that time was 601.

I hope this information helps.

Yay!! I'm Approved 👍😆

My approval odds for this card showed "very good" via Credit Karma so I decided to apply after being declined over six months ago. Less than a minute after applying for this card the results screen displayed a message of "CONGRATULATIONS, you've been approved!" I thought I'd get approved for a measly $500 (lol) but when I looked down and read "Credit Limit" $3,000 I was beyond excited. My hard work is finally paying off after a painful divorce in 2015. My ex-husband removed me as a joint user on his AMEX, CITIBANK, and Capital One cards which reduced my 646 score to the mid 400s. :-(

Capital One has been awesome. I also had their secured platinum MasterCard. They upgraded me to the unsecured card after about 5 months of on time payments and low utilization. They also increased my CL on that card from $300 to $500 with expected increases very soon. My current utilization is 1%. Lol... I usually try to stay below 15%.

I also make two payments a month sometimes. I look forward to my QuickSilver One $3,000 CL increasing after 5 months. I plan to use it for my monthly groceries and fuel for my two vehicles.

Thank you Capital One. :-)

P.S. I was approved with a 626 Credit Karma score. I hope my review helps.

The Children's Place Credit Card

"Why in the hell do they care if i use my card???" They care because that's how credit card issuers make money. You should do your research before opening any additional accounts. Use cards at least once or twice a month to keep it active.
