I really don’t see why this institution has such great reviews. CK must really make a profit from advertising them so aggressively. After many recommendations I finally decided to look into it. I was approved for a 5000 unsecured loan on 20 percent interest. I was planning on taking a vacation to Dominican Republic so I thought why not. I’m pretty sure that’s just to get you to walk into their building because once I got there I basically had to redo the entire application with a representative and they told me I wasn’t approved for that much and would need to give them my car title or could not get the loan. I point out that when I applied the loan said unsecured and I was told they don’t do unsecured loans. Ohhhhkay. That’s weird because it said unsecured plain as day, but I didn’t sweat it much, I thought I would be able to pay it back quickly and the interest rate didn’t bother me much. After back and fourth we agreed on 4000 I began going through the loan agreement and signing documents. Once we get to the interest of course the 20 percent interest rate turned into 36 percent during the process. WHAT THE HELL. When I brought it to his attention of course he stated 36 was a standard interest rate in the company. Wow. Now after making all my payments on time for 2 whole years my pay off amount is still 4000 dollars lol. Some months I paid double thinking money was getting added to the principal but apparently that’s not how it works. Last year I hit a 4 month patch where I was unemployed but I made sure no matter how much I was short I found a way to make my payments on time because I already saw how shady they were from the start. One month I paid half before the due date and was 2 days late on the other half and they called me telling me they had an offer that could lower my payments. I hung up the phone so fast! They will never scam me again with their shenanigans. I can’t wait to pay this loan off in full and never mess with this company again. My credit wasn’t great but in the 600s and I’m paying back $7900 on a $4000 loan. Your monthly statements are so vague and barely give you any information. It’s all apart of their scheme. If you don’t download your loan agreement after 7 days it gets difficult to retrieve it from the company. There are other things I can state but all in all this loan has become a burden and honestly hasn’t affected my credit score as much as I thought it would. I regret taking this loan.

Terrible deceitful customer service

I will NEVER get another loan for this company again. They are con artist. I requested my payoff amount for my $4000 loan. After paying $160 a month for 2 years my payoff amount is still $3000. Cool I don’t have any problems I’m preparing to pay it off in 2 weeks. I get a call from a customer care associate telling me that she hates to see me leave and asking me the reasons why I am paying my loan off early. I tell her the interest rate is too high and I’m basically paying double back on loans so I just want to get it off my back. She tells me I can lower my interest rate on my current loan since I’ve been a valued customer and all I have to do is authorize them to pull my credit report. I ask if that is a hard pull and she says yes and I tell her no thanks because I don’t need any more hard pulls on my credit right now. My score has been growing and I’m also preparing to try to get a mortgage in the next few months. She doubles back and says are you sure you don’t want a lower interest rate i think it’s worth it. After talking she pursued me and I authorize it and give her my updated financial information. She then tells me my local branch will give me the details of my new interest rate. When my local branch calls me they tell me that I was approved for an extra $7000 and ask why it is that I need more money. I was flabbergasted????!? I tell her that I made it clear from the start that I never wanted more money and I only authorized the hard pull because I was told I could get a lower interest. Her and her manager tell me that it’s not possible but since I’ve already done the hard pull “I might as well accept the money and it’ll be at the same 35% interest”. I immediately filed a complaint and called back customer care and I was then told a manager would be calling me back shortly. After 10 hours pasted I called back was told by another associate that the same manager will be reviewing the conversation and will call me back before the end of the business day. I call back at 9:50 pm 10 minutes before they close and demanded to speak with the manager. Manager Travis Holland finally came to the phone and apologized and promised me he would call me back by the next business day and insured me I would not have to call back and took down my contact information personally. It’s now been 4 days and still not one call, but yet I’ve received several offers via mail and email over the last couple days. I’ve now sent a message through the company website and still nothing. I don’t appreciate them playing with my credit and these tricks they play to try to get you to take out another loan and I am disgusted with the professionalism of this company. I wish I could give 0 stars I will never recommend this company and look forward to never dealing with them again. Completely unprofessional and will tell you anything they want rather it’s true or not.

Application process is easy. They give credit line increases daily often. I’ve had my card for 7 months and have already received 4 increases. It definitely helps your credit it just sucks to use it. I honestly wouldn’t even mind the sky rocket interest and jacked up pricing of all the items if the shipping wasn’t so outrages. That’s literally where I draw the line. I ordered a game for the PS4 and a small Tonka truck for my little brother. Both items where mailed to me together in the same box but I was charged $26 shipping for the game and $19 shipping for the truck. Mind you that is standard 5-7 days shipping. With pricing and 30 % interest along with their shipping methods it’s a very difficult card for me to use. Makes me feel like I’m just giving away money

Bank of America as a company is not it

This was my very first credit card. Opened almost 3 years ago with a $400 security deposit. My Transunion was 510 when I opened this card and my income was at 20K. My Transunion is now 690 and my Experian is in the 700s and my income is now over 50K. I never missed a payment on this card and was never late at all. Always paid more than minimum or paid in full whenever I let a balance carry over. I never requested a credit line increase because I was so focused on trying to use this card responsibly to get them to graduate it to an unsecured card and return my security deposit. It didn’t matter anyway because they never once raised my limit and have continually denied my graduation request regardless of my stellar payment history with them and the fact that my financial portfolio has grown since first opening this card. 34 months of excellent payment history literally means nothing to them. I recently applied for my fourth graduation request last week after getting denied the last time in January and they denied me again so I finally closed this card, as well as my checking and my savings account that I had open with them since 2009 and IT FELT GREAT. I don’t feel appreciated as a customer with them and paying interest and annual fees on your own money is never fun. I know for a fact there are better cards and companies out here for me so I don’t think I will ever look at Bank of America as an option in anything I do going forward. Looking forward to getting my little security deposit back in the mail though :)

I was very scared to get this card because the reviews are terrifying. After months of uncertainty I finally pulled the trigger and applied. I was approved for $300 cl. Was pretty low but I accepted it. I didn’t make any charges to it at first because it already had $75 charge for the annual fee. I made 2 on time payments and the raised my credit line to $450. I just used to the card for the first time this month. Haven’t had any issues as of yet will report back soon.

Pretty solid card

I opened this card 2 months ago with no annual fee and $1000 starting credit limit. I couldn’t use the card for the first month that I had it because it literally took them almost a whole month to verify my identity through my id and my bills which was a bummer. But once you finally get through that part it’s a solid card to have. It takes a while for purchases to show up but this card hasn’t failed me. I even used it overseas in China a few times and it worked without me having to call it in

Hate this card

I put $400 down on a secured credit card 2 1/2 years ago. Was told after a year they would graduate me to a secured card. I called after a year and was denied waited another year and was also denied. I have never missed a payment once. There were months when my utilization was high but I always pay more than the minimum. After almost 3 years I still have the same $400 I put down. It has helped my credit but they are very dishonest and I wish I would have used another bank for my secured payment. If they don’t upgrade me by the end of the year I’m just going to close the account and get my deposit back
