Been a member since 1968. During that time I missed ONE payment due date. In 2010 I got very sick and had no insurance which caused me to loose my house and all my money went to the hospitals. How did AMEX treat me, they dropped my credit limit to 2K when my balance at that time was 1,800. I am paying the highest APR of all my cards. But hey I have continued to pay my bills. I'd dump the jerks but dropping a company will affect your credit score. BTW Capitol One didn't screw me and I still have a $20K credit line. Stay away from these jerks. If you hit a bump in the road, look out AMEX will work you over!

Fast response!

I was approved today 1,000 on this credit card. I have a 659 credit karma score; 53,000 annual income, perfect payment history although i have high hard impact inquiries (with this one 9th) I hope that I have a good experience with AMEX, is my first credit card with them.

Disappointing

I've tried about four times in the past to get an individual AMEX.  I've had a business Amex sponsored by my employer twice and never had problems. When I tried on my own for a Delta Skymiles and the BlueSky I've been turned down even though my credit score was higher than I see here. I applied for 4 cards last year. I got a Lowes, Sears, and A citi.  Got the lowes first then the citi 6k cl. Then tried Amex got turned down. One time  a few years ago when my TU was 745, exp 725, and equifax 705 I used the AMEX website and a tool they had for you to see if you wild qualify.  I used the tool and it told me I would qualify for a Delta Sky Miles and when I Applied I was Turned down.  The last time I applied My income was OVER 140k I had a credit to debt ratio of less than 25% my scores were 690 or higher and I still got turned down.  I see all these people getting approved yet I don't.  Anyone have any thoughts?
