well the inquiry i dont think you can do anything with unless its more than 24 months old.. as for the collection agency, you need to be writing them a letter and demanding in writing that they CEASE AND DESIST any and all efforts to collect on this debt. In addition, I would also demand that they ( the collection agency) immediately remove any lines regarding theis debt from any and all crdit reporting agencies, they may have submitted your information to. In closing politely request that they reply promptly to your reuest in writing within the next 30 days. make copies of everything, then wite a letter to each credit bureau, including copies of your letters to the collection agency, and copies of the court documents, highlighting the courts decison... DO NOT SEND ORIGINALS, make and keep copies of everything, and send it all out certified mail return reciept requested... then once everyone responds, you should see copies of your credit file from each reporting angency, plus some kind of acknowledgement from the collection agency that your file has been closed.. at this point, all you want is the credit file updated and your collections lines deleted. If the collection agent never responds, thats fine.. as long as your credit report is updated. file the letters, the return receipts, and the court papers together in a folder and keep iwth your other financial stuff for another 7 years. Just in case, they try again at some point to collect on that debt, you'll still have something to throw back and them.. goood luck.

Seven years may be the law but I would keep that file forever and always. Collection agencies are the scum of the earth and it would not suprise me if this raises its ugly head again. Many break the law on a daily basis. If they can find you in a tight spot financially and get you to cough up money they will continue to try. Keep those records always.
