Applying for credit cards dings your score/rating. You should wait at least 2 months. I'm in the same boat. I want to apply for more cards to get the 'free money' but I just got a new card in early 3/2011. I'm still trying to find out exactly how long I should wait before applying for a new one. Whenever you apply for credit, they do a hard pull (CK does a soft pull when you check your score) on your credit worthiness. Too many hard pulls within a short amount of time looks bad to creditors. I don't know how many is too many. If you applied 5 times within the last 60 days, I'd stop for several months.

It's been about a month since I got my new Discover Card and I was able to get immediate approval for a Citi Credit Card. I found the card via 'guaranteed approval' through CK. My scores are 762/806 (CK/Vantage). Cit is pretty aggressive when trying to sell you extra services. I had to say no several times during the phone activation process. The operator I spoke with spoke fast, had a thick accent, and wouldn't take no for an answer several times. I did get 0% APR for 21 months (not just 12) on balance transfers with a 3% fee.

if you are getting denials, then you are only hurting youself by banging your head against the wall.. NO means NO..
take what you have, and spend the next 6 months using it to buy gas for the car, and pay it off every month.. at the end of the 6 months they should hit you with an automatic line increase, take it and keep your balances below 25% of your available line at ALL TIMES. DO NOT go over for any reason, not even for a second.
Make every payment early or on time, never even a day after the due date. keep that up for the months 6-12, and you should see a big increase in your scores, and at least 1 or 2 new card offers in the mail.
Have patience, and stop begging. the 'good' cards will find you in time.

Why do you want more credit cards? Having many credit cards is not a measure of success, it is a measure of praying at the FICO altar. You should stop this silly game and start thinking income, assets, career and success. Who cares about the credit score? I don't.

"Who cares about credit score?" Are you serious? Anyone looking to buy a car, a home, start a business, or simply save money by paying less interest cares about their credit score. So much that they have entire websites dedicated to the subject... Ahem.
