A collection agenct purchased my account
Good question?

I get frequent calls that are recorded. The debt is more than 7 yrs. old. I've told them that I cannot afford to pay. Has the 7 yr. drop off period restarted?

well here in tx the  its a 4 yr time zone, as long as you do not start paying on a collection which by now is not the first company you owed to, then you should be ok? you see collections company who buy old debts try to tack on more than whats the first bill is, i have one that was bought and sold to a collection company and that companys wants more than the first bill. the first company could not prove what was or was not done so i stopped paying the bill. but it will not come pff my report untill 2012, and its reported under all the credit reportting companys as a dispuited item
