Will a security-backed loan appear in credit report?
I'm purchasing a home and was going to liquidate investments to place a 200K down payment. Financial advisor said to take out a security - backed loan instead and let the money in investment grow. There will be no monthly payments for the loan, but rather the investments will.

Yes AND No

Yes and No.  However, the answer really depends if the lender reports to the credit bureaus.  Meaning that this is a question that should be asked of your loan originator prior to applying as that's who really decides to report or not.  There's more to this answer obviously, but that is the most direct answer.
