You will first need to have a consultation with a bankruptcy attorney. Read reviews on attorneys in your area to help select one. Sometimes you may want to consult with a couple to look for a better price. If you are a candidate for bankruptcy, it depends on the chapter of bankruptcy that you file as on what happens regarding debt. Look up (google search) Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 to learn the differences. Of course, bankruptcy is bad for your credit, but then again if you have a bunch of unpaid accounts on your reports, then that is bad too. As far as what will happen? Their not going to put you in front of a firing squad or anything like that. Nothing will really happen.
