wanting to buy a house, but not sure how to improve credit score
My credit score is 523 and my husbands is 541, we have together a total of $7,100 in collections. If we pay that off will it improve our score so hopefully in a year we can get approved for a loan on a house?

also- should we pay in full? I mean these are already such a negative impact on our scores, will paying in full make a difference? or can we settle for a lesser amount?
