Updating Credit Score
So I paid off a couple of debts last month, including a credit card. My score reflects that the debt is still there. I know it takes a while, sometimes months, to update a credit score to reflect that something has indeed been paid off, but the score states that it was updated as of today and is STILL reflecting the debt. My credit card statement states that the balance is zero, so my credit score is not updated accurately but states that it was. Why is it not actually being updated? Do I need to provide a copy of my statement to the credit bureaus to prove that it has been paid? And how can my score be reported as being updated today when it wasn't actually updated? Any help would be appreciated.
