There really is no fast way, so don't delay in getting started. The first and most important step is a lot of reading about credit. Don't skip this! You are dealing with your financial future, the time spent reading can be looked at a wise investment. Get a Secured credit card to start building credit with, a lender like Capital One is a lender many start with, just make sure whatever lender you go with reports to all three credit bureaus before applying.

As you get that secured card, (and you should) look carefully at the fee.   You will want to research the wisely.    The card recommended already was a good choice.  Not all secured cards will convert to unsecured.    Not all cards will give you a "free" credit line increase over time.    You should never pay a fee to increase your credit fee.   You should never pay a monthly maintenance fee.   A $45 yearly fee is easonable.   If they will allow you to increase the credit line on a secured card by making additional deposits, this is a great tool, although, most do not offer this.  The more you can put down on the secured amount the better.   Then, manage the card wisely, paying the entire balance due when you get the statement is best.  And never put more than 10% in charges on the card.   Last thing to remember, whatever you put down, this is NOT your money.   You should get it back eventually, however, the first time you think it is money you can use to pay off the card, your card will be closed and your credit score till tank.
