does canceling credit cards negatively impact my score?
We are retired and have cards with zero balance that have not been used in a while. Our line of credit on our active cards is substantial. Would my score improve if I eliminate/cancel the unused cards? or do I let sleeping dogs lie, so to speak. Also, Bank of America replaced one card with another, phasing out what we had, (their executive decision, not ours) and so I had to drop the old card from PayPal and add the new number. Today I see a drop in my credit score due to a hard hit. Is this fair, proper, or even right? If I add a card to PayPal, does it automatically generate a hard hit? Is there any way to change that? Thanks!
