I recently paid off a debt and when I asked if they would remove it from my credit report I was told no they don't do that. Can i dispute this or is there any other way to get it removed?

Paid collection isnt ground for removal just because it was paid. It has same reportable period as unpaid collections, except in State of New York, which paid collection supposedly only last on your report for 5 years rather than normal 7 1/2 years.
