You probably should have applied for a credit card instead of a charge card that has to be paid in full every month.

So you have $114,000 in credit card limits and you are using 25% of that. That gives you a total balance of $28,500. I think this is the reason. That’s a lot of unsecured debt.

I have this card and have never had it declined for any purchase. I have used it for purchases for a lot more than $2500. The annual fee for this card is $550 not $595.

I would call them and find out what concerns that they had. It’s not in a banks best interest to open and close an account that quick unless there was a good reason.

American Express gave me a $2,000 limit on my first card. I had a 822 credit score but only a house and truck loan. I did not have any revolving credit lines at the time. American Express upped my credit limit every time I asked throughout the next year. I applied for the Starwood Preferred Guest card one year later. They approved my application for the card and gave me a $16,000 limit.

You almost maxed out your credit with them in a short period of time. Like it or not banks get nervous when you do this. You have to realize that it’s an unsecured loan.

This card has not been out for 10 years. I think they started offering it in 2016.

Your credit score is probably the reason. You can make $500,000 a year but if your credit is not good, nobody will lend you money.
