We think it's important for you to understand how we make money. It's pretty simple, actually. The offers for financial products you see on our platform come from companies who pay us. The money we make helps us give you access to free credit scores and reports and helps us create our other great tools and educational materials.
Compensation may factor into how and where products appear on our platform (and in what order). But since we generally make money when you find an offer you like and get, we try to show you offers we think are a good match for you. That's why we provide features like your Approval Odds and savings estimates.
Of course, the offers on our platform don't represent all financial products out there, but our goal is to show you as many great options as we can.

4 things to know about the Marriott Bonvoy Bold™ Credit Card
1. Good sign-up bonus for a hotel credit card with no annual fee
The Marriott Bonvoy Bold™ Credit Card features a 50,000-point sign-up bonus when you spend $2,000 on purchases during the first 3 months after account opening.
You may be able to find more valuable bonuses from other Marriott credit cards. But this one has no annual fee, so it’s a great value considering there’s no upfront cost.
2. Enjoy a more comfortable stay with Elite status
The Marriott Bonvoy Bold™ Credit Card gives card members 15 complimentary Elite Night credits each calendar year, which is enough to qualify for the program’s Silver Elite status.
With Silver Elite status, you can request late checkouts based on availability. You’ll also be able to book hotel award nights with no blackout dates.
3. Turn Marriott stays into hotel award nights
You’ll earn a total of 14 points for every $1 you spend at Marriott hotels.
The Marriott Bonvoy Bold™ Credit Card earns you three Bonvoy points per $1 spent on qualifying Marriott purchases. You’ll also earn another 11 points per $1 through Marriott Silver Elite status. Additionally, you’ll earn two points for every $1 you spend on non-Marriott travel purchases, plus one point per $1 spent on all other purchases.
Depending on how you use your card, it might not be long until you have enough points to book a hotel award night, which starts at 7,500 points.
Marriott also offers the fifth night free on award stays. That means if you save up enough points to book four hotel award nights, you could tack on a free night to the end of your reservation.
4. Good for traveling internationally
The Marriott Bonvoy Bold™ Credit Card has no foreign transaction fees.
That means you can bring the hotel card on your next vacation and continue racking up points on your travel purchases without the fear of being hit with these pesky fees.
The Marriott Bonvoy Bold™ Credit Card doesn’t offer a free night anniversary bonus like you might see from other hotel credit cards. Instead, you’ll have to earn your hotel award nights with points.
It’s also worth pointing out that Marriott Bonvoy™ Silver Elite status doesn’t include complimentary room upgrades or lounge access. If you want those perks, you’ll have to qualify for one of the program’s higher elite-status levels.
But keep in mind that these features usually come automatically only with hotel cards that charge an annual fee.
Understanding your points and redemption options
Marriott Bonvoy™ points are each worth an estimated 0.93 cents when you redeem for hotel stays, according to Credit Karma’s point valuations.
Your points can be used to book more than just hotels, too. You can also redeem your points for cruises or transfer them to dozens of airline rewards programs, including United MileagePlus and Southwest Airlines Rapid Rewards.
But you may get less value for your points from these other redemption options. In most cases, you have to transfer three Marriott Bonvoy points to get a single frequent flyer mile from a transfer partner.
Who this card is good for
The Marriott Bonvoy Bold™ Credit Card is great for cost-conscious Marriott guests who want to be rewarded for their loyalty without paying an annual fee. With a solid sign-up bonus and opportunities to earn bonus points on Marriott purchases, this card may offer enough features to justify carrying it in your wallet.
But it’s probably not the best choice for Marriott guests who would prefer an annual free-night bonus or the extra perks that come with a higher level of elite status. It also likely isn’t right for those who don’t like the idea of committing to one particular hotel brand.
Not sure this card is right for you? Consider these alternatives.
