Why should your zip code and credit score determine car insurance rates?
Karma Drive™ is a tool to provide you with a personalized driving score, insights about your driving and the chance to leverage your driving habits to see if you qualify for a discount on a new car insurance rate. As part of the Intuit Credit Karma app, you’ll need to log a certain number of miles, trips or days driven, depending on the insurance partner available. By connecting to Karma Drive™ and tracking your regular habits, you could find out if you qualify for a lower rate without any obligation to buy.
Once you sign up for Karma Drive™, simply drive as you normally would while sharing your location with the Intuit Credit Karma™ app and keeping your phone with you. You’ll need to log a certain number of miles, trips or days driven, depending on the partner. During this period, Karma Drive™ will track how you drive including acceleration, braking, and focused driving among other driving factors to determine how safe you are behind the wheel and establish your average driving score. The higher your score, the more you can potentially save on a policy.
After the test drive period, you’ll see if you qualify for a discount with one or more of our insurance partners and can then get a quote and decide if you want to buy a policy.
During the trial period, Karma Drive™ will track your mileage, the times of day that you drive and how you drive. Data such as your typical routes and average speed are used to better understand your habits, determine how safe you are behind the wheel and establish your average driving score.
That information is only shared with Progressive to determine if you could qualify for a better insurance rate.
You aren’t guaranteed a better rate by using Karma Drive™. But even if you don’t qualify for a discount or lower rate through one of our insurance partners, developing better driving habits could help you qualify for safe driver discounts in the future and prevent driving violations or accidents, which can drive up your insurance premium.
There’s no need to download another app — Karma Drive™ is part of the Credit Karma app. Simply download the Intuit Credit Karma app on the App Store or Google Play store and create an account or log in. If you’re having trouble with the Credit Karma app or Karma Drive™, contact our Support Center for assistance. In the Intuit Credit Karma app, tap on the menu option (the three dots in the top-right corner) and select “Help Center” under the “General” section.
Karma Drive™ is available in select states and if your current state is not eligible, check back with us as it may be in the future.
Karma Drive™ will not negatively impact your current rate and you will even receive tips during your trial period on how to improve your driving score and increase your chances of getting a discount.
