Capital One® Classic Platinum Credit Card

+1

Had it for 4 years now. One credit limit increase from $500 to $750 6-months in. Nothing else. Offers purchase checks with paper statements that I've used to pay my rent. Some checks come with additional fees some don't. Interest rates have gone up on this card and my satisfaction has gone down. Also had some problems with customer service over the years. 2 stars for lack of improvement and just plain bad form.

Chase Platinum Visa® Card

+1

Before Chase converted this card over from WaMu it was awesome. My credit limit went up $1000 every 6 months and I had free access once a month to my credit score along with a variable rate that barely every went above 11.99%. I would also get balance transfer offers at rates as low as 2.99%. After the conversion my replacement card had an ugly design, my interest rate went up to 22% for no good reason, my credit limit hasn't gone up, and I haven't received a single balance transfer offer. My credit score has always been in the 700s. There is no reason to treat loyal customers like this. I paid the card off and keep it open because it is one of my older accounts. Bleh.

AAA Auto Insurance

Truly basic insurance. Access to perks not really there. Most of the stuff you look for in roadside assistance you can get simply by getting a AAA card which is less expensive than the insurance. I have never been wowed by their customer service. They offer most types of standard discounts for car specs, student discounts, AAA membership, etc. Don't expect an awe-inspiring one-on-one there-at-the-drop-of-a-hat relationship the likes of a shiny television commercial. But it will get the job done, should you live somewhere that mandates basic insurance coverage.

Citi® Diamond Preferred® Card

Just got approved with CK 734 @ $1800 credit line. Credit line not as high as I wanted but 0.0% interest for 21 months. Did some research. Appears they like to send out the Citi Platinum Select Mastercard which is grey and I had received a lot of offers for. I also got an offer on this card. There appear to be 3 different interest rates and three different time periods to get 0% interest. Appears that as you trade off for a lower post-intro interest rate you get a shorter 0% intro duration. I got the highest interest rate of 20.9% to go with the longest intro period. I'm happy. I'll either ask for a lower APR at the end of interest period or start using a different card. In the meantime, no annual fees, Extra Cash from Citi, and no interest fees!
