I am secondary on the mortgage and on the home equity loan. The primary person filed bk and couldn't cover the second and that can't be included in a bk or at least not in AZ. So I took a loan from my 401K but was short $2K. They agreed to write it off. This hit the primary person when it came to taxes but not me. I only show it as a red mark on my credit and it dropped about 100 points. Since it had to be counted as income on the primary person's taxes I'm not sure if there is anything that I can do to make my credit score better on this account.
