Everyone's situation is different but if you already have open credit and you follow these tips you should see it make a difference. Make all your payments on time, stop opening new lines of credit, apply for credit line increases on your credit cards, and try to get your credit card utilization down below 20%. Don't get discouraged, I followed this advice and my score rose nearly 30 points in 3 months.

High schools really need to teach young adults about credit. I took out two credit cards as soon as i turned 18, now at 23 I have a score that is nearing 800. All I have done is use my credit cards and pay the balances in full every month. There really is no reason for young adults to have low scores other than the age of their open accounts. I think they just dont know that they NEED to use credit and use it RESPONSIBLY.

Up by 100+ points in 6 months just by following a few simple tips. I asked for credit line increases to lower my credit utilization from 90% to 10%. I now know not to close out old accounts. It has helped me help myself. :)
