You can thank the federal government for this one. We are examining the possibility of offering this card to an 18-20 year old with a co-signer to meet the requirements of the new laws.

My son just turned 18 and I was looking at your card for a first cc to build his credit file. Are you saying that the new Federal law requires age 21 for all cards or just your card? What is the law?

I do like this card offer, and I plan to sign up for it as soon as possible. What I don't like is that I don't have the ability to increase my limit via an ACH deposit. Mailing a check that takes a week to get there and then waiting up to 21 days for the check to clear seems excessive in today's electronic processing world where my bills are paid overnight.
I really wish this card would allow ACH as a method of increasing credit limit.

You are correct. Today we do not allow an ACH to increase the credit line. However, we will allow Western Union and wire transfers which will give you immediate access to your new credit line.

This is a regular credit card that happens to be secured by a deposit at our bank. You determine the credit line amount. Your credit line is equal to the amount you deposit as security.
Hope this helps.

I am an identity theft victim and am currently looking for ways to improve my credit score.my current score is fair.I guess my question is; if have a freeze or block on my credit report, will I be able to get approved? This seems like a very good card that can help me out. Thanks.

Hi, publicsavbk. If your company does not pull a credit report to approve an application, then how can your company ask (say) DonPete questions regarding his past credit history to verify his identity?
Do you mean that a credit report is not pulled? or that a credit report is pulled however it is coded as one of the possible 'soft' inquiries only visible to consumers, and not coded as a 'hard' inquiry visible to creditors as well as consumers? I ask, because the process looks a lot like Quizzle and their 'free Experian credit report & score every 6 months' offer. With Quizzle, I received a SOFT inquiry -- in spite of my experian report being frozen. (Quizzle was not able to provide me with my credit report in spite of that, though it did offer me a score; found out Quizzle requires an unfrozen Experian to give a credit report.... in spite of the soft inquiry, but that's off topic and 3 CSRs away.)
So, is Public Savings official stance really that no credit report is pulled? Because that would be misinformation if one is pulled, it's just coded as a soft instead of a hard. How *is* that past credit history information obtained to be verified? if it's not a soft inquiry either. (not a knock on Public Savings or the CSR here graciously giving us information, just wanna know the process.)

annoneil01, credit report (hard or soft). The challenge questions are obtained from various public records. There are services out there we use to help prove identity to help mitigate fraud risk.

Best to check the Cardholder Agreement for these details, but the highlights are as follows:
Purchases: 0% APR for 6 months, then Prime + 7.99
Cash Advances: 10.99% for 6 months, then prime + 7.99% with a minimum of 19.99% and a maximum of 23.99%
Other terms apply so please read the Agreement.

APR for Cash Advances 10.99% introductory APR for the first 6 months.
After that, your APR will be a minimum of 19.99% but not to exceed 23.99%. This
APR will vary with the market based on the Prime Rate.
Either $5 or 3.50% of the amount of each cash advance, whichever is greater.
which one of this interest apply for cash advances? or both apply?
if for ex. today a got a $100 cash advance how much will my total balance be when the bill comes? with the introductory rate and then also after the introductory rate assuming the highest 23.99%APR, also assuming i don't have any previous balance.
i still think regardless is a very good offer i just like to know my options, just in case.
is there any grace period on cash advances?
Annual Percentage Rate (APR)
for Purchases 0% introductory APR for the first 6 months.
After that, your APR will be 7.99% + Prime. This APR will vary with the
market based on the Prime Rate.
is there a maximum (prime rate)? and what is it?
Does the yearly apr only applys if you have a balance due?
Or for ex. if your acct balance is $0.00.
How much do you have to pay when the yearly apr comes?
is the yearly apr do after a year exacly you opened the acct?
is the yearly apr do once a year only.
i understand all the other interests and fees is only this yearly apr im confused with. sorry for all the questions i know is annoying to someone that knows, but i must ask to know.i never had a credit card before and i don't want to make mistakes or have surprises before i start.

Ok... here I go:
The cash advance APR is 10.99% for 6 months. After that, it will be the greater of 19.99% or prime +7.99. It will never exceed 23.99%
There are no grace periods on cash advances. This is typical of any credit card - secured or unsecured.
The prime rate today is 3.25%. I do not believe there is a maximum prime rate because these rates are set by the banks and generally reflect market conditions.
The APR reflects the interest rate and the interest is what you pay on outstanding balance. You may want to search for some basic tutorials on APR. This can be a confusing topic and deserves your further research.
But I will address this... the APR is not a one time payment as you allude to in your question. If interest accrues, you pay it as you go along each month. It does not just hit you all at once in a year.
Hope this helps?
