i agree with bigboynoise and dkilby. there has to be a better way to help people who are in chexsystems than this. the fees are outrageous, and unlike a 'second chance' bank account it doesn't look like you'll be 'upgraded' to a real credit card or real bank account after a certain time period. Instead of getting interest bank on YOUR money, you have to pay 14.99% interest -- again, on YOUR money? This may be legal, but it's legal usury. Can not recommend.

If you have NO credit, is this a good card?

Fees are so minimal compared to checking account fees. I do not pay a monthly fee to use this card. I only pay a .50 cent per transaction fee - so if I plan ahead, I can pull cash out at the grocery store and not be dinged with small fees for little purchases. The only other fee I really pay is money gram for deposits that aren't direct deposited from my employer.

I have had this card for over a year now. While I agree that the fees can build, if you are aware of what they are, you can seriously minimize them. The only fee that I pay is the $9.95 per month; I don't pay ATM fees because I always get any cash that I need with a "cash back" debit transaction at the store. Very rarely have I ever had the need to go to an ATM because almost everyone takes credit/debit cards.
This is a great option not only for people with bad credit, but also for people who are in Chexsystems and can't get a bank account. If you want to use the credit builder option, you only need to authorize AccountNow to pay your bills via their "billpay" service. Also, if you are a member with a regular series of direct deposits, you qualify for cash advances as well.
