Misguiding and worst service ever!

Credit Karma is trying to be nice not giving me an option of a half star or no stars at all but that is seriously what I want this insurance company. Let me tell you about this insurance company. I was hit by another car driven by a drunk driver. My car got a big dent on drivers side door. My car was sitting outside my house and It was parked perfectly. Long story short, I was not at all in the fault from anywhere. I started following up with this insurance via an agent (I badly want to tell that claim settlers name but I dont want to be a reason to lose someone's job). They told me that car and insurance was on someone else's name(apparently that someone else is driver's grandmother, as I have heard from the cops) and they told me that need some time to investigate into this situation. I said okay as long as I am getting my car fixed. 

It is been 2 months now and I have not heard a single word from the company. Everytime, I have to call them BEGGING to repair my car. They would be all polite with me and misguide me that claim is with department above us and you should hear from them within 72 hours. Everytime I called them, I have been misguided. By the way, my car is still not repaired and I have still not heard from this company.

On the top of it, claim settler is rarely available to talk on phone. I am talking with her voicemail requesting a return call but rarely got that too.

Seriously, save some stress and your hard earned bucks and stay away from this company.

We got much better options out their.

God (and ofcourse this geniuses know) when will I get my car fixed!

Out to make money off of you & that's it

Grange Insurance is literally the worst insurance company on the face of this earth. I will NEVER return to them! After having them insure my home for 5+ years (with not a single issue), I have come to realize that they only exist to make money and make a fool of you. Their customer service was entirely non existant, they charged us even after we cancelled a policy and they outright insulted us over the phone. I would not trust these folks at all; they have no idea how to run a business or treat other people. Just one example for you: when we called them to inquire about renewing our full year policy or doing a monthly policy since we were about to sell our home, they were utterly useless.They did not explain any of the pros/cons of the options, did not share the differences in pricing, and berated us for asking any questions. Worst team of people and business we've ever worked wtih.

I had Grange for 30 years.

Paid my claim without question

I had a fender bender. I didn't even report it to the police and they paid for the woman's bumper, no questions asked. I also had a very compentant agent as well. They explained exactly what my policy covered. I have since switched to another companyand agent because it was cheaper. I am going back to grange and the former agent for the piece of my mind. I think the agent also makes the difference as well as the company. The current agent I have now also sells grange and there is no way I am staying with them when I switch back to Grange.

Tesla owners: Do not insure your car with Grange. Grange will take your money for a policy, but will not pay your claim.

I am a Model X owner in Ohio who signed up with a competitive rate with Grange Insurance. Recently, I had the heartbreaking experience of sliding the front of my Model X underneath the flatbed of a truck in front of me.  The hood was scraped and dented in a few places. My disappointment had only just begun.

In central Ohio there is only one Tesla approved Body shop.  When I filed my claim with Grange I indicated that I was taking my car to the only shop certified by Tesla to work on my car. When Grange reviewed the estimate from the certified shop they scoffed at the labor rate quoted and refused to pay more than the rate they pay for work on Chevy or Ford cars.  Grange said it was my choice to NOT take my car to one of their approved shops where the rate is much lower and the technicians lack any training or experience with Tesla vehicles. Grange would not negotiate with the body shop and told me I would be responsible for the difference in the labor rate. Grange Insurance wasn't even putting up half of the labor rate charged by the shop. Law requires that the insurance provider restore the damage to the condition it was in before the accident, yet how can this be "guaranteed" if the people they have work on our cars have no training, tools, experience, and certification from the manufacturer? This is not an insurance policy.  It is a gamble.  It is a joke, and in my opinion, downright dishonest and illegal.

If you're choosing an insurance carrier or adding this car to your existing policy I encourage you to ask your carrier if they have experience with claims on Tesla vehicles and if they have a negotiated rate with Authorized Tesla body shops. If they do not have a relationship with one of the approved shops available on Tesla's site (here: https://www.tesla.com/support/find-bodyshop) then I recommend you find another insurance carrier.

You do not want to find yourself in my predicament and having to result to filing a complaint with your state's department of insurance in order to argue sensibility and common sense.

Tesla owners: DO NOT INSURE WITH GRANGE INSURANCE!
