Unrealistic Rental Car Coverage Policies

I have rental car insurance coverage. When I filed a claim I expeditiously had the claim processed and had my car at the service center same day as the accident happened.  I have messages from the car service place indicating that my car would be available for pickup on 12/8 and then updated to say wouldn't be available for pick up until 12/9.  I received the call mid day. I work 35 miles from where my car was being serviced and get off of work an hour after the service center closed.  The service center is closed on Sat and Sun therefore, I made arrangements to have my car picked up at 7:30 a.m. first thing on Monday morning.  Now I'm being charged for the rental car coverage of $89.99.  That's absurd.  Multiple calls have been made with no documentation noted to the file and escalation has resulted in wait times, no resolution.  I'm disputing the amount on my credit card and changing insurance ASAP.

Their Insured Hit my Parked car and No one was in my car- and still after 3 Days they still said they had to wait to talk to their Insured , for him to admit it was his fault Before they would cover anything!!  the girl Danielle in their office think was a big mouth and their company in No Way Compares to NJ MAnufacturers Insurance!!! If you Hit someone's car , Would it take you 3 Days to call  your insurance company - and Encompass said they tried calling their insured 4 times and blamed it on their Insured Never calling them back!!!!

Major rate hike

I have been with Encompass for over 30 years.  I have had no accidents, no tickets and no claims on either my auto or home.  In one year my rate has jumped from just over $1,000 to over $1,800.  Excuse me!!!  When I questioned this I was told that insurance rates have gone up.  I call BS on that one, as I just got a quote for a better policy through another MAJOR company and it was around $1,075!  Hmmmm - think they are trying to go after people over 55???

We had a house fire and had to use our homeowners policy. They waited 9 months to cut a check to the construction company building the new house because they have a provision that if repairs are not completed in one year they do not have to pay. Luckily I was financially able to build the new house without the money from the insurance policy. By the time they responded to our attorney he was able to tell them to cut us a check because the new house was already built.
That did not make them happy at all.N

ow they have cancelled our policy because my three Grand Sons have three bicycles in our back yard.  REALLY ?!? Yuup they mailed us a leeter saying our policy would not be renewed because we had not removed the bicycles from our back yard. Now we have one month to find another insurance company or we will lose our home to the bank that holds the mortgage.

Stay away from these creeps. They are horrible people.

Don't let the lower rate fool you.

They roped me in with a lower auto insurance rate then more than doubled it within 2 years - without any claims.  Cancelled it and provided proof of other insurance, but they still send me a bill for 'coverage' after I cancelled the policy   As others have stated - their billing system is SO messed up.  I had to put a reminder on my calendar to pay my auto insurace as multiple requests for an e-bill AND a bill through the mail were ignored.   They cannot clearly explain to me what their last bill is about.   I honestly don't know how this company stays in business.
