why would my score drop 25 points after getting a collection removed, shouldnt it go up not down

It does not make sense, but I see this being reported often with these non-fico scoring systems. It is always a good thing to get collections removed. Check your FICO scores to see what they are doing if you have developed them. Read everything that you can on what it takes to build and maintain good credit. I have a feeling that you don't have any current accounts being reported to the credit bureaus and that may be why you saw a decrease with the removal of the collection.
