Poor Homeowners Score with 1 claim
I've lived in my home for 25 years and had only one claim last year when a concealed pipe leak in a wall caused mold and carpet damage. I know other factors are considered but my credit score is high, my job history solid (I'm retired now) and my car insurance score is also good. After my one claim I was informed that my homeowner's premium would be raised over $200 and so I applied to another company to compare rates. I was told I was not eligible for other insurance because of my poor record. What do I do to change this situation so that I can shop for another home insurer?
