No improvement in score
I paid off all the cards I had on a credit card consolidation program. The one remaining card started at $6000 now down to a few hundred, but month after month my score never moves from fair - why isn't it going up ?

Did you close the credit cards that you paid off in a debt consolidation?  We're they maxed out prior to paying them off?  If they weren't maxed out, then they probably weren't hurting your score in the first place. If they were closed after you paid them off, then you probably hurt your utilization which is a major factor in calculating your score.
