Were They Valid Liens?

It depends.  If they're withdrawn because you paid off your debt, then you wouldn't be able to do much.  The lien itself won't be reported as "current" but it still shows on your history.  It's one of the derogatory/extreme marks that creditors are anxious to avoid in the future.

If however, the fact is that the liens should have never happened in the first place due to a clerical error or something like that, contact Transunion, Experian, and Equifax.  Let them know that the liens were a mistake and to confirm with the IRS.
