Collection companies passing them back and forth will NOT keep them on your reports. The seven years starts from the DOFD (date of first delinquency) on the original account. If seven years has gone by, contact the credit bureaus to remove the accounts. Keep in mind that the "statute of limitations" is different from the seven year reporting time. Look up the "sol" in your state to be sued for the debt. If it has expired, you can send a "cease & desist letter" telling them to no longer contact you. If the collection companies are harassing you, read up on the FDCPA (fair debt collection practics act) and look for a FDCPA law firm to consult with.
