I paid a collection and score went down
I pulled my report and found a listing for a governmental agency. Turned out it was for a photo radar ticket that I never, ever got. It was about 2.5 years old, so letting it age off just wasn't an option.

I called them, asking for a pay for delete, which they denied. I paid them anyway, and now my score is lower. Has this happened to anyone else?

it seems that any activity will change your score.  Having paid it off your score should rebound soon.
