How to use a credit card to raise your credit score?
I have been debt free for some time and since I had no CC's my credit wasn't very good... I got a Mountan America Credit Union credit card and started using it for all of my monthly expenses (not bills) groceries, gas, ect... and paying it off every two weeks on payday. The card limit is $2000 and I rack it up to about $1800 and pay it down to zero on about the 16th and the 1st of each month (we get paid on the 15th and the last day of the month 30/31st) When I got on to check my credit to see if has helped it, I have a utilization score of 75% "very poor" and it shows my card as carrying a balance! What am I doing wrong? I have paid it off before the payment due date EVERY single month. If it's paid off within two weeks of being charged, why am I showing a balance on my credit?? My whole plan is backfiring! Help!
