How can I remove accounts that were paid in full but had late payments. Acct. closed 10 yrs ago

If the account is beyond 7 years old, even with late payments, it is not part of your credit score.   You can file a dispute with each of the credit bureaus which still have reference to request it be removed based upon the age of the account.  Note:  If it went into default, the closed date is not the date of record.  Is would be the date they determined the account went into default.   Credit card companies can close accounts and delay the default date as they attempt to get you to pay.
