Dispute the account that is showing the balance, because it is incorrect information as you do not owe them a balance. The three credit bureaus are Transunion, Equifax and Experian and they all have websites with instructions on how to dispute incorrect information. As far as any accounts that have been closed in good standing reporting correct information, NEVER try to remove them as they have a positive influence on your profile and scores. Get that account with a balance disputed immediately though.
