Closed account with a balance??
If an account has a "closed status" why is it still showing a balance? Should it be showing up on my credit report still?

The status of your account has nothing to do with the balance of that account. An account can be closed by you, or it can be closed by the credit card company, even if it has a balance. Whatever the reason it was closed you are still fully responsbile for the balance that remains on that credit card.

And yes, Closed accounts will still show on your credit report - it will continue to be on your credit report for 7-10 years after it was closed.

Remember, your credit reports is a history on all your credit, not just your open credit. Only closed accounts older than 7-10 years will no longer show on your credit report.
