Can an old collection account be reported as a current collection and cause your FICO score to drop?
Credit Karma alerted me that I had an account in collection. When I investigated the source it was an almost 10 yr old account that had been closed. I checked my FICO score and it dropped from a 710 to 677 because of this being reported as a current collection. Is there anything that can be done or is this even possible?
