Can an cc debt of over 6 years ago still be collected on?
Old cc debt of 6 yrs, received letter by attorney's office that they want to settle the account. This debt still shows on my credit report as active but I have not made a payment in 6 years. My understanding is they can try to collect but can no longer send to collections or sue for it unless I respond to the letter

you would have to check the statutes of limitations for your state.  Also if you are beyound the SOL they have to tell you that in the letter they sent you.
