Am I supposed to file taxes if I get welfare

If you had any job last year, you should have received a W-2 showing your income and withholding.  That would be your basis for filing taxes.  If you were receiving unemployment benefits, you would hsave received a 1099 form stating how much you received and would have to file taxeson that basis.  That you are receiving welfare benefits now does not relieve you of the obligation to file.  Contact the local IRS agent for assistance on this.  They are not the mean people so many think. They can be very helpful as long as you are truthful with them.
