Orchard WAS owned by HSBC which is going through soe EXTREMELY hard times now. They were JUST sold to Capital one. So those of you who haven't received your notice, be expecting it shortly. I have two cards from them with a high limit of $1500. I got this when Iwas approved for an unsecured loan through beneficial (Which HSBC has since closed) I have no problems with customer service or the card itself. The main complaint is that they are stingy with credit line increase. With that siad, who know what will happen now with the sale to Capital One. I already have two Cap One Cards. so now I will have four, per se.

Due to the depression all credit scoring should start over and those who screw up under the new score should have to pay. But not those who due to no fault of their own were unemployed and unable to pay their bills. I think this should be a national movement. We should demand a fair break from the banks and our government. After all it was them that screwed things up to begin with. We are being scammed here!!! Banks take our money, give use high fees for any borrowing or even having a credit card whether it's used or not. There should be some better regulation of the big banks and the way they make their dough. Ever wonder why the biggest buildings in most cities are bank buildings? If you got laid off, lost your home due to the job loss and then had a poor credit score as a result, you are now being asked to dig deeper to even get in the door again. And forget about ever borrowing for a home again. You are dog-meat to the banks, now and will be broke your entire life.

"Valued Orchard member since 2006" with never a late payment or used over 50% of limit. After 6 years of perfect payments well over minimum due no offer to increase credit limit to help build credit score as promoted. Low credit limits can hurt as much as help - Orchard should reward the loyalty and perfect payment history with credit increases....6 years is long enough.
