Compare your credit reports.

Chances are that you may not be credited for an account that he opened and then added your name as a signer. He would have that account showing as available credit and yours isn't showing it.

Other factors may be an account in your name that he is not on that shows a higher balance, or something simular.  Take a good look at your credit reports side by side. you'd be wise to do this every couple of years at minimum.

Good luck!
