There is no way to stop/change it

There is no way you can omit the effect of enquiries (HARD enquiries) on your score. A hard enquiry indicates you have been actively seeking new credit. Lenders would definitely want to know why do you want more credit. If you have lot of unpaid debt and your report says mutliple enquiries, that indicates that you have used most of the credit you were offered, and are hungry for more (instead of paying back the old one). That's why the enquiries count and hurt.
