Why are charged off debts that are bought by a collector being reported twice on my credit report?
From reading other questions, I see that if the original debt was charged off and then sold to another collector, only one of the debts can be reported. But who do I go to to get the original debt removed from my credit report? Can I dispute with the credit bureaus? Or do I have to go back to the original creditor? And what exactly do I tell them?
