When disputing with credit bureau on collection activity, where does the burden of proof rest?
My husband's credit report shows "ok" status recently within the past 2 years. Only thing is this account has been delinquent for over 6 years, and we are just waiting for it to fall off year 7. When we go to dispute this with the credit bureau, do we have the burden of proof or the collection agency? If we do, how can we possibly proof something we never paid since payment does not exist. Thank you for your help! Be blessed.
