My credit score is reflecting 8 accounts showing in collections
These collections have $0 balance and were included in the bankruptcy. I understand that they will be removed from the credit report in 2018, but why is my credit score reflecting this negativity?

Because they were collection accounts, that is deemed a negative account, even though it is paid.  Anything negative hurts your score, although the older it is the less damage it does.
