joint credit thats got a 20 year credit history
The credit monitoring agencies don't give me credit for 20 years of joint credit only crediting me with approximately 4 years of single credit since my husband died Would it help to notify them that he died?

When there is a death of a party on a joint debt, they routinely close the account and reopen the account for the remaining party if their credit is worthy of the credit.  The date of the account would be when they opened the new account.  Notifying them of his death will not increase the number of years from 4 to 20.
