How long can a creditor report "charge off/collection" Mine has reported "CO" for 3 yrs now.
If they continue to report am I not being penalized for up to 14 years. If they stopped reporting this month, I will have bad credit for 10 years after my last payment.

For most debts excluding Federal loan debt, a charge off will be reported on your credit reports for 7 years from the date of the first delinquency that led to the charge off, this is known as the DOFD date. Basically you can figure that the 7 years would have started 1 month after the last payment that you made on the account.
