how do i get ahold of the people I owe money to?

You should currently be making payments to companies you do owe money to.  The ones showing on your credit reports may likely be errors in additioin to legitimate accounts.  Go to annualcreditreport.com and get copies of all 3 credit reports.  Look them over and file disputes on accounts that clearly are not yours or that have wrong information.  File the disputes with the credit bureaus reporting the errors.  They have to investigate and either verify or delete the disputed entries.

You need to make these full credit checks once a year to make sure only the correct information is on them. 

Do not make any payments other than on accounts you are currently paying for until after you have cleared up the errors.
