Credit reports

show your credit history for the last 7 years.  the only thing that stays on your report longer is anything where the government or courts were involved. Bankruptcies stay on your report for 10 years. Tax liens and student loans will stay on your report for 7 years after they have been paid off.

The only refferences to the age of your credit is on the accounts themselves and that should be accrate back to the day it was first reported.  once an account is closed, it will report for 7 years from the last payment then it will fall off our report as well.

Hope that helps
