It's difficult to answer without knowing what makes your credit bad but there are two things you can do to have better credit/higher scores, one, make all your payments on-time and two, keep your credit card ultlization below 30%, below 10% if you can help it. Other than those two? Probably time, your credit scores will improve over time when the "bad" fall out of your credit history, assumes you do not add anything negative to your report.

Johnny pretty much nailed it. Talk to your creditors and make arrangements that suit your financial situation if you can help it.

Credit improvement tactics!

It really depends why your credit is bad? If you have dregatories , then you should start disputing them if they are over 4 years old, you have a good chance having them removed without even paying them, if they are recent, you should try to settle them for like 25% off actual balances. The other options would be to add yourself as an authorized user or joint account holder (joint holder would be the best option) , to one of your other household members (make sure their card is not showing any negatives, and the utilization of less than 30%).If you have no choice of doing so , the other best options would be, to open an secured credit card ,with the highest reserve amount , that you can afford ( usually the limits are from $300-as high as $10,000).After getting any of the above options , you should keep paying your payments on time and in between keep fighting to have the negative items removed from your credit profiles.Make sure to monitor your credit on the regular basis. If you need more details and assistance on , how to improve your credit as quick as possible
