You could, but that would be unwise.  Bankruptcy is a legal proceeding with many rules and trying to do so without advice from an attorney is likely to hurt more than it will help.  Talk to a bankruptcy attorney (usually the initial consult is free) and follow their advice. Often they provide information on workable alternatives to bankruptcy.  And, if your major debt is things like credit cards or unsecured loans, don't do bankruptcy, PERIOD!!

Please read the articles on this site (look to the left under Resources) because Credit Karma's purpose is teaching people about credit and how to improve theirs.  I learned a lot and was trained in accounting. You can learn a lot and avoid a bunch of trouble by doing so.
